Internationally renowned comedian Sam McCool returns with a brand-new stand-up comedy special:
“McCool 5.0: Ageing Gratefully” — a laugh-out-loud journey through life, near-death, and everything in between.
ABOUT SAM MCCOOL
A finalist on Australia’s Got Talent, with sold out solo shows at the Sydney Opera House, Sam has entertained over 1 million people worldwide, performing from Bollywood to Hollywood and beyond.
As a co-creator of 3 world-first initiatives, survivor of multiple near-death experiences, and now with 5 decades of lived experience, Sam has a lot to share.
SAM’s STORY
After ‘quitting his day job’ at 35, Sam was invited to appear on TV Show Australia’s Got Talent, reaching the finals. Since then his comedy career has taken him to the 4 corners of the Earth. From Greenland to Cape Town, from Bombay to Bora Bora and from Montreal to the Rio Olympics.
Along the way he has had countless unique encounters from swimming with humpback whales in Tonga, climbing the Great Pyramid of Egypt, surviving the Bali bomb, empty air tanks while scuba diving, and walking away from scooter accidents in Cuba, Malaysia and anywhere they’ll still rent him one. This show will share such stories and much more.
WHY McCOOL 5.0
Now turning 50, with at least 5 career iterations, over the last decade he has gained 3 children, lost 2 parents and left him with 1 choice… laugh at life while ‘ageing gratefully’.
Blending his skills of accurate cultural observations, lighting fast audience interaction and a self-effacing charm this show brings the philosophical depth and human hilarity of an adventurous life well-lived.
CORPORATES, CRUISES, CHARITIES… HILARITY
Trusted by global brands like Accor, Amazon, BUPA, Dell, Deloitte, IBM, Malaysian Airlines, Optus, Qantas, TEDx, UNSW and many more, he’s been a class-act at corporate events, cruise ships and comedy festivals alike.
However, this new show will be more personal, reflective and uniquely interactive than ever before. Sam is super eager to get back out ‘on the road’ and share his newest material on his national tour, culminating in 2 shows at the Sydney Opera House on 18th Sept 2026.
